Renewable Term Life Insurance

Renewable term life insurance is a good option that many people have taken advantage of in their life insurance lives. Yes, there is a difference between term life insurance and renewable term life insurance. You need to know what you are dealing with and how to make it work just like you want it to. Not all life insurance is the same, so make sure that it is custom fit to your life. You never know what options will be the best one for you which is why you need to do all the research you possibly can. Life insurance is under your control at all times.

What is a Renewable Term?

When you get a renewable term life insurance policy, you are getting a policy that can be renewed at the end of its term. Yes, this is a lot like normal term life insurance only the difference is that renewable term life insurance can be renewed without the evidence of insurability. You can just rely on your old evidence of insurability that you used when you first signed up for term life insurance. Just make sure you know the rates because they might be changed on your second term. This is an issue that you need to take up with the life insurance company if you really are concerned about it. Do not be taken advantage of.

Read the Policy

You must be completely familiar with what will happen if you renew your renewable term life insurance policy. Know the rules that you must follow and know how far in advance you have to alert them that you will be renewing your life insurance policy. You do not want to wait too long only to find that you are not eligible to renew anymore. Every life insurance company works differently, so do not assume anything. If you have a question about coverage or rates once you renew, make sure you ask your agent first. Make sure it is a term you want, and if you have the ability to gain cash value as well.

Just Because You Can Renew…

…does not mean you have to! Figure out if you need life insurance still, or if you need more coverage. You do not want to renew a policy that is no longer relevant to your life. It is alright if this policy does not work for you anymore. It is much better to find a policy that works then it is to use a policy that is irrelevant. You might even qualify for better coverage at a lower rate now, which you should definitely use. Another reason you might not renew is because you could find that permanent life insurance is the direction you now want to go.
